The Hall Committee and affiliated groups have been working hard to continue to improvement the hall. Much thanks to the local community for your efforts both in man/ woman power and to the local community by attending local events including Rous Unplugged evenings. These efforts have helped us save and raise money to enable these changes.
In 2018 we moved the kitchen from its existing location to the northern end of the hall, thus creating a barrier between the toilets and the dining space. This is also our first step to making the back space ready for the new deck extension. At this time the whole hall internals were painted.
In 2021 we received two significant grants that allowed our deck to be built. - Service New South Wales Grant (with support from Ben Franklin) - Community Builders Grant (with support from Tamarra Smith)
We would also like to thank: - Ballina Council for making their annual contribution. - Richard Lutze from RLA Building Designs for their support in drafting plans and working with council and others to make the deck happen. - Liam Hackett and his team for the great build - Rous Unplugged and Milling Around event community who raised over $12,000 through events to contribute to the project.
The deck is looking great and is a great addition for our events and for those who may chose to hire the hall. Come and check it out!
